I was introduced to Larissa and Tom by my colleague, Arvil. As soon as he mentioned his sister was getting married and he thought we'd be a good match, my insides smiled. Knowing Arvil, I was sure I'd adore any of his siblings and (spoiler alert!) I was right.
From the start, I really dug these two. They were intent on crafting a wedding day that was true to them, instead of true to trend. MY JAM. Their invitations had a Mexican folk art vibe; the Buddhist ceremony would be held at a Zen center; her dress would be a cropped length; they own a hairless cat. And yes, I realize the cat doesn't have anything to do with their wedding day style, but like....they have a hairless cat.
This was the second consecutive rainy wedding day of my run, but L + T were good sports about traipsing through the soggy woods for some photographs anyway. Tom's kids, Thomas and Eavan (Ay-vin) were also super fun and cooperative and made all the right icked-out faces at all the right they're-kissing-ew-love-gross moments.
Thank you to these lovely humans for kicking off the 2015 season on the perfect note.
The pair had a small celebratory dinner at Braddock's Tavern in Medford, NJ. The town had a quaint Main Street with string lights hung overhead-- if only they'd had them lit! Oh, the photo ops. The tavern itself had a great atmosphere and the food was divine. The couple brought in a vegan wedding cake from Sweet T's in Haddonfield NJ and it blew my mind. So yummy and beautiful to boot.
