Andie May + Ron : Rock N Roll Bride, Blush Gown + Bluegrass
There's something you need to know about Andie May + Ron's West Chester, PA wedding. You've never seen anything like it. This pair curated a wedding that was as unique as them, in a way many of us can only hope to do. This is the wedding that says, "Pinterest? We don't need no fkn Pinterest."
With a team of artists at their disposal, these two went full tilt toward the wedding of their dreams, while honoring a modest budget. They pulled on their love of antiques, classic cars, tattoos, rockabilly, bluegrass, and straight up freaky people and it was a night I will never forget.
The morning started off with rain, and I called Associate Photographer Eliza in a panic, asking if she could come to town to hold my umbrella. Yes, very Kanye of me I know. Anyway, while we waited on the rain to let up, we took some shots around the Hotel Warner, where the bride got dressed with her daughter Trinity. Miraculously, as soon as their car pulled up, the rain stopped, and didn't start again.
While we were prepping, We are Wildflowers was busy decorating Marshall Square Park, transforming it from a simple community square to a stunning and unique ceremony space. How amazing are those bull horns???
Eliza arrived and generously offered to stay and second shoot, as a gift to the couple, no umbrella-holding necessary. I'm so grateful she did because I could not have captured all the emotion of their ceremony without a second camera. Also a gift to the couple, AGPcollective's new cinematographer came along. Dan, owner of Reiner Media, made the raddest wedding video. I'll post it at the end!
After their ceremony, we spent some time shooting family portraits in the park, followed by some time alone with the couple, before heading over to their reception venue, Sprout Music Collective. Another unconventional choice, the pair chose this intimate watering hole for their sound system and ability to host bands, as well as their incredible menu (Sprout is the sister establishment of the celebrated Roots Cafe).
In addition to bands they brought in from across the country, the couple also provided a tin-type photographer for guests, and entertained at nightfall with a fire-breathing act.
Be sure to check out more shots from this amazing day in the slideshow below, and don't forget our rad co-vendors when you're booking your own unique event. Without them, we probably never would have seen this wedding make international print publication in Rock N Roll Bride. As it were, you can check out our feature in the scans below. I'm still pinching myself over it.
