I have know the sweet Jessie Reece since we were in elementary school. She is one of the most sunny and warm human beings I have ever met. Through our lives there was always a distant thread that kept us loosely connected, and run-ins with her always left me feeling amazing. When she told me she was getting married, I was so overjoyed. As a fellow single mama, I had always kept her future close to my heart, and she deserved this happy ending so fully.
When it became clear that our pricing might be a little out of reach, I surprised the couple with a video, gifting them a bit to help bridge the gap. I just couldn't imagine letting anyone else capture their day, just because of a few dollars and cents.
The day was hotttttttt. starting off in an air-conditioned church was dreamy. The couple were married by a great-uncle of the bride, which was super special. After the ceremony, we exited to find the most picturesque skies and clear weather...a treat since they were calling for storms all day! We headed to Springton Manor Farm, one of my favorite parks in Chester County, and I was blown away by their remodeled facilities. I HIGHLY recommend holding your wedding here!
The day was perfect.
After the fact, it became even more important to me that I had the opportunity to be a part of this day, and to experience this family as a whole on one of their happiest days.
A few months after the wedding, the bride's mom went in for a routine medical procedure and died from a complication. It was completely unexpected, and a total shock. No time to say goodbye, or to prepare. The entire family was decimated, as Kathy had been their rock, their source of inspiration and their hero. Although we focus on the joy on wedding day, it's never far from my mind that these photographs quickly become more precious in situations like these. It is a true honor to witness your families, and to preserve moments that will live on forever.
Sending love and light to Kathy's family.
